SURPRISE ATTACK!

It isn't half as interesting as it sounds... Ofsted Inspectors have come to school, so all events have been postponed, which has caused a bit of controversy among the students. It's actually quite ridiculous, but I suppose their points are valid.
On the lighter side of things, we've decided to keep Sam in the band, no one knows if he is actually going to sing or not though, and annoyingly Joe has threw in the towel and abandoned us, so now I get to throw him evil glances during music to make him feel guilty. I'm a really friendly person.

Year 12 Concert

Thursday (24th April) was the Year 12 Concert, it went quite well to be honest. However, my solo pieces didn't really go to plan, and I have been told to stick to just playing an instrument, or just singing, not both, so I think I'll just play my bass from now on (at least until I can comfortably do both). I was temporarily inducted into a band for the concert, they call themselves "Cyan Cities" which is a name I don't really expect to be seen on any posters.

As a band we mostly work quite well together, we just have major problems with our front man Sam, for two reasons. Reason one: he can't sing to save his life, he's terrible, even if you auto-tuned him, he would be miles off the right notes. Reason two: he steals the spotlight, which probably isn't much of a problem, but since this was being recorded for an exam, and he wasn't being examined (it was just me and our drummer, Joe, being examined), he was being a tad inconsiderate. If your wondering he had his guitar amp up really loud, so you couldn't hear my bass, or the drums, thankfully though, our lead guitarist (Mikey) understood that this was for an exam and turned his amp down, which meant we couldn't hear him over Sam.

I imagine if we replace Sam, we might be a reasonably good band, but until then who knows, if we're lucky people will start taking the mick out of him for his horrendous performance and he'll either quit or learn, I don't care which, but if he quits we'll need a replacement. Replacing rhythm guitar would be easy, I can think of three people who would (probably) be willing, but a new singer is a bit harder.

Psychobilly? Hell Yeah!

Me and my girlfriend have decided it would be insanely cool to have a psychobilly band, the best part about that is if we do it correctly we won't need a drummer (we don't have any friends who like our favourite music and can drum). So step 1 teach her how to play bass and make sure she buys one, (which she will be in a few days). Step 2 get her playing slap bass like a pro and step 3, move her onto double bass (there are 2 in school)
The problem with this idea is that the psychobilly bands we know of don't have any bass tabs on the internet and I can't (yet) play guitar in a rockabilly fashion (I can at least do the punk side)

A Graveyard Smash

As far as I can tell Glorified Sound Check, the band I was supposed to be playing bass for, no longer exists. So the plan is to start my own band and unfortunately I am missing a few key ingredients, a guitarist, a drummer and friends that play these instruments. I guess in order to fix this I must engage charismatic George and convince my not quite friends to hang out with me a bit more and form a band, I have ideas of people that might be willing to join, but is it enough to just have an idea? No it's not, therefore that idea must be put into effect and as soon as I can I shall see if I can convince me target band mates to join me.

A Feeling Ever So Strange

This has been an odd day for me, at 07:38 this morning I received an email from Jazz telling me it's over. And I didn't care. She said our relationship was going no where, but she wouldn't let it go anywhere because about 3 weeks ago she dumped me as a publicity stunt since her family and friends all of a sudden hate me. So we spent the last 3 weeks in "secret". All she would of had to do is talk to her family and convince them to like me, they did until they heard the rumours, which I won't bother explaining. At least she took the blame for the cock up, which means that my third "proper" relationship wasn't screwed up by me, just the others.
Overall I'm currently happy, which is odd, I shouldn't be happy, I just got disconnected from my life's greatest relationship so far. Then again I was originally planning to just walk up to Jazz and her friends and just dump so they knew that we were still together, and they didn't know.
Apparently I'm in a band, well the band has been an idea for about 8 months, but we've finally decided to do this. I somehow doubt it will last too long though since one of the vocalists doesn't really like me and may cause a scene, when he leaves the others may just get annoyed and forget about the band idea, but I don't care about that either.
I'm the Bassist.
